Southern ITaly
One of my favorite things about Italy is its timelessness, its unhurried and nostalgic atmosphere. Sicily was the first place I traveled to internationally, at 8 years old, and it doesn’t feel like much has changed since then. Why would it? They’ve about perfected the “way of life”. To make things more sappy, I recently found our old PowerShot that came with us on my first trip here. It’s outdated and slightly rotted, but I like to think that adds to the effect. So naturally, I brought it back with me. You see the allegory here?

Here’s what happened - I brought the wrong lens. 7,000 miles away from home, I accidentally brought my macro lens, making it impossible to get the nice photos I wanted of me and my friends - especially somewhere as crowded as Tokyo. Shit.
But then mother nature said, “draw me like one of your French girls”, and the clouds receded, and the skies became blue and the cherry blossoms bloomed two weeks early, just for me.
